 INTRODUCTION 

My name’s Keefe R.D. I’m an Indonesian author. I wrote books in English and Indonesian language. I love the aesthetic way in telling stories, mostly about the life in parallel universe. 

Books I’m interested to read are mostly about spiritual and supernatural stuff. I’ve been living in Indonesia for my whole life with my family. I inherited half European blood from my mom. And pure-blooded Javanese from both my parents. I graduated from Mercu Buana University as Bachelor of Communication, specifically I enrolled in broadcasting major. I love to spend my time with reading books, watching interesting movies and series. Mostly are supernatural genre related. I’m a big fan of superstitious and occultic stuff!! I love mysterious stories and legends. Always captivated me to learn something secretive. Especially the mystic things that are hiding in a plan sight.

I’ve been writing books since 2012. It was around my second semester in college. I was about 17, about to be 18. The first book that I wrote is Royal Arcanum. But at the time, I haven’t given much thought about the title, it was previously named Fallen Stars. Since it was my first experience, no one taught me how to write a book… I had a difficulty for understanding what was going on between my mind and my reality. It was like the buzzing voices and visions turmoiled at once. Then boom—! After three months of struggling and chaotic anxiety took over me, the book was born. But it wasn’t perfectly polished yet. 

It took me several years later to create the right manifestation of Royal Arcanum, which was perfected in 2021. Because of the chaotic trial and error process, Royal Arcanum wasn’t my debut. Instead, The Salt Prejudice was much easier to be written. 

I spent three days of writing and total seven days to revised and prepared for the publication. So, the anthology short stories and poetry became my debut in 2016. During that time, I had to divide my focus as I was preparing for my thesis and college graduation.

Most of the books I wrote are set in alternate reality. Mostly has the touch of fantasy and supernatural. Some books even have darker shades and gothic vibe. And only a few that have cheerful tone. Like my first romcom book for instance, Write A Prisoner. The story is dominated by the yellowish vibe. I didn’t want to get stuck only with one genre! So, I love to have open experience to all things. Because the world is filled with so much colors.

By the end of 2023, I’ve finished writing the Javanese horror series, which consists of five books; Kembang Sukmo, Wangsul Nogo, Nestapa Dewo, Mistis Rimak, Mistis Kuncen. This is my first completed series of Indonesian books. Starting mid-September 2024, I’ve been actively introduced them to the Bookstagram communities on Instagram. I’m so happy that many new readers discover these books, promoting our appreciation and love for the local culture.

The most challenging to write for me is still the Arcanum Revelation series. I grow up and learn so many things with them. And I hope to learn more about the mysterious of life. There are sides of this universe that we haven’t yet discovered.
